PAUL STALEY Obituary

Paul L. Staley, 95, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 9:26 a.m. Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Piqua Manor Nursing Home. He was born October 15, 1930 in Piqua to the late Vondale H. and Alma O. (Grissom) Staley. He married Joyce Wallace on September 28, 1951 in Piqua, and she survives.

Paul is also survived by his son, Paul "Steve" (Cindy) Staley of Piqua; five grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; his sister in law, Phyllis Staley of Elk Rapids, Michigan; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Dick, and John Staley.

Paul was a graduate of Piqua Central High School, Class of 1948, and furthered his education at Miami Jacobs and Sinclair Colleges, and lastly was sent to Dartmouth University for work and thoroughly enjoyed the experience at an Ivy League school very much. Paul honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Paul retired from the former Aerovent with over 35 years of dedication and hard work, and was the owner of Staley Investments for about 20 years. Paul was a longtime, faithful member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and loved his church family. Paul was driven to give back to the community, he volunteered to coach baseball with his brother John in Pony Grad league, and then later in life gave many hours of his time to the Salvation Army and the Piqua Rotary Club. In his free time, Paul was an avid golfer and always supported Ohio Sports teams, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds. Paul loved to spend time with his family, and almost annually traveled up to Elk Rapids, Michigan for rest and relaxation.

A service to honor Paul's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2026 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 325 W. Ash St., Piqua, OH 45356, Ohio's Hospice of Miami County, 3230 N. County Road 25A Troy, OH 45373, or to one's favorite charity.
