PASTOR DONALD R. STEELE

Pastor Donald R. Steele, 85, of Piqua, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2021 at the Hospice Unit of Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born April 6, 1935 in Wadsworth to the late Ocea Ray and Susie (Frederick) Steele. He married Wanda Emans August 18, 1956; a union that would span sixty-four years, and she survives.

Other survivors include a son, Dale (Jill) Steele of Memphis, Tennessee; a daughter-in-law, Lynne Steele of Piqua; four grandchildren, Melissa (Ben) Okuly, Michael (Abbie) Steele, Kyle (Katie) Steele, Casey McMurdo; five great grandchildren, Amanda (Dillon) Gold, Haley Shaw, Mayley Okuly, Kyleigh Steele, Makenna Steele; three great-great grandchildren, Garrett, Braeleigh, and Ashton Gold; and one brother, Darwin Steele of Akron. He was preceded in death by a son, David; and two grandchildren, Kelsey Steele and Jennifer Shaw.

Mr. Steele was a graduate of Highland High School in Medina and the Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. While attending Bible College, he met his wife Wanda. Following graduation they were married at the Assembly of God Church in Delphos. Donald was ordained in the Assemblies of God for over fifty years and he pastored churches for forty-five years in Wilmington, Centerburg, Van Wert, Martins Ferry and Sidney as well as Sarasota and Englewood, Florida. He attended Grace Family Worship Center.

A private service to honor his life will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery with Minister Devanice Ball officiating. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Bibles for Outreach, P.O.
