Obituary

DAVID L. WELBAUM

David L. Welbaum, 67, of Covington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at 7:39 pm Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his residence. He was born March 28, 1951 in Troy to the late William L. Welbaum and Phyllis J. (Cross) Welbaum; and she survives. He married Brenda S. Stapleton May 27, 1983 in Troy and she survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Steven L. Welbaum of Celina, Richard J. (Dena) Graham of Syracuse, New York; a daughter, Jennifer L. (Russ) Welker of Troy; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Scott (Laura) Welbaum of Greenville, Robert Welbaum of Troy; two sisters, Melinda (Tony) Adams of Troy, Melissa Johnson of Tipp City; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Joe Welbaum.

Mr. Welbaum was a 1970 graduate of Troy High School and he never missed a single day of school. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. He was a man who loved to work hard, whether as an OTR Trucker, driving dump trucks, or mowing and plowing snow with his family business, BW Contractors. He loved his dogs, spoiling his grandchildren, watching cop shows, working on cars and fishing. He gained much enjoyment in helping others throughout his life and putting others before himself. He will be deeply missed by many.

A service to honor his life will begin at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor John Hughes officiating. Following the service full military honors will be provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County, P.O. Box 502, Troy, OH 45373.
